Other readings - About

The 'Other' readings category is for requests that do not fit easily into the main categories. It is intended to allow for full freedom to express the joy of discovery and self development through sharing with others. This is the spark which became the essence of Cinnaminta - to go beyond simply placing your own work on the internet and waiting for comments by requesting others to interpret and perform your writing; to use the opportunity to share and develop through the two-way experience.

Your writing might be unusual, hold extreme views or be unsuitable for the junior citizens of our planet in respect of the content or language used - the content is largely up to you provided that the text is correctly categorised but please refer to the terms of and conditions as there are certain things which Cinnaminta in not intended to be used for.

You might prefer your reading to be to:

• a shout into the inky blackness of a coal mine;
• a whisper to a daffodil;
• a yell outside an embassy building;
• a passing wail from the back of a motorbike; or
• what ever it is you need to say.

The choice is entirely yours.

Opening up your work for interpretation by others can be a powerful inspiration for development and a liberating voyage of discovery. Better than simple peer review, the reviewers are required to perform the work. You could obtain a unique insight into how your work is viewed by others - the perfect test bed for would be script writers.

Cinnaminta brings together the global network of people who would like their original works of literature to be read out aloud in a special place and the people in those special places who like to perform readings.

Through Cinnaminta you will become an active part of a global expression of humanity and rediscover the joy of writing and reading out aloud and being an active member of a global community. You will be able to reach out, connect, share, and develop with other cultures around the world. You will be able to cross closed borders and cultural divides as a virtual traveller with minimal environmental impact.

The Cinnaminta reading out aloud services are provided by the members for the members. When a few of your compositions have been read out and you have seen the recordings, think what a thrill it would be for somebody else if you could provide a reading for them in one of the places that you can get to and to do so in your own style. Perhaps you have seen a request that you think suits your style or needs to be performed in a certain manner - then it's time to offer to do the reading.

We expect that people will find all sort of ways to use the Cinnaminta services, such as group readings, singing, dancing, speech synthesizers, mime, translations, performance art and plenty more that we have not thought of. The Cinnaminta team are looking forwards to seeing how the Intent community will use Cinnaminta.
