Acts of remembrance - What you can do

You can use Cinnaminta to help someone else by reading out aloud their acts of remembrance, commemorations or testimonials in a location which you can get to but which they cannot easily visit. You can submit your own requests for readings anywhere in the world.

In the acts of remembrance category you can:

  • browse the reading request listings and offer to read out aloud someone's act of remembrance, commemoration or testimonial for their parents, loved ones, partners, children, significant others, spouses, other family members, friends or much loved celebrities;
  • add your own request for an act of remembrance at a special location and/or particular time (e.g. anniversary);
  • search the member profiles to find a suitable reader with a suitable style for your own requests who can reach your special location anywhere around the world;
  • record your own act of remembrance
  • use the private members message service to discuss and develop the reading style with the reader and, possibly, develop the composition to achieve a unique and very personal performance, or
  • record your own reading (uses the Request form - select 'I want to read/perform/deliver this request myself').

You can search the requests to see what acts of remembrance, commemorations or testimonials other people would like to have read out aloud or you can browse another reading category using the links in the right hand margin of this page.

Cinnaminta provides facilities for a multi-media recording of the reading event to be stored, free, in your own private archive, shared with the requester, the reader, their friends and family or, if appropriate, the whole world.

You can also search the public archive of completed readings to:

  • see what acts of remembrance other people have written and read out aloud; and
  • see how other people have performed acts of remembrance.

Perhaps rather than a reading you might prefer to see a recording of the sights and sounds of the location where the person you would like to remember lived or you once visited together. You can request multi-media recordings of this type at no cost through the sights and sounds category.

How will you 'Reach out beyond the internet to remember'?
