What is Cinnaminta? - Credits

The development of Cinnaminta brought together a group of enthusiastic people, keen to develop a new form of social networking for people who want to take the internet beyond an environment in which they simply post their work in public and wait for comments to one in which they can actively request readings or performances, help others through reading or performing their requests and enter into constructive two way communication with people around the world through shared reading of prayers, acts of remembrance, poems, celebrations and original writing.

The idea

The initial idea for a service to read your original writing, poems and prayers in special places which you cannot easily visit and the basic concept for the services were conceived by Warwick while out walking through the hills of Buckinghamshire, England in the mid 1980s. This only became viable once the internet took off and was developed into a briefing document which was subsequently extended into the Cinnaminta model through discussions with friends and family.

Concepts, writing, development, design and support

Thanks to Cally for keeping the concept true to spirit and to Peter, Santiago, Abu, Amar and Colin for their efforts in realising this web site. Cinnaminta's beautiful design was created by Hasan. We're using the country location lookup database from Webnet77.com on the registration page.

We are indebted to the friends, family and colleagues who provided their time and knowledge to give us feedback on the web site.

Cinnaminta members

Without the members of Cinnaminta helping each other, the web site would be nothing.

Others

We mustn't forget R. D. Blackmore for his character Cinnaminta in the book Cripps the Carrier - A Woodland Tale which also helped inspire the design, and a special thank you to Cinnaminta herself.
