Before starting

Before supporting, starting or offering to deliver petitions we suggest that you look at the quick tour and read the guidance notes on safety.

Before starting a new petition, you should carefully search the live requests to see if there is a suitable petition to support.

Writing petition statements

Before you start to write your petition statement we suggest that you:

• search through the archives to look at other petition statements that people have supported;
• think about what you would like to have read out aloud and write it down, but keep it very short and clear;
